Progress in telecom and IT, govt`s biggest achievements: PM
Lucknow, Oct 19: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee said today that the progress made by the country in the fields of telecommunications and Information Technology were the two biggest achievements of his government and expressed confidence that the country would move ahead in the field of scientific development.

Inaugurating the Indian Oil Corporation's Petroleum
Complex here, Vajpayee said providing smokeless kitchens was
his government's prime objective.
He said the Indian oil's complex would go a long way in
meeting the requirements of the people of the area besides
cutting down the transportation cost.
Vajpayee also lauded the efforts being made to provide ethanol mixed petroleum products saying as ethanol was a bi-product of cane, it would also prove beneficial to the cane farmers, who could sell it to the oil companies.
The Prime Minister said the use of ethanol would also result in cutting down country's oil import bill thereby saving the precious foreign exchange.
