New Delhi, Nov 10: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today said the Centre will seek a report from the Governor of Tamil Nadu on the issue of arrest warrants by the state assembly against six senior journalists of 'The Hindu' and 'Murasoli' dailies.
This assurance was given to a delegation of opposition leaders from the state, who called on the Prime Minister here this evening, according to a PMO spokesman.
The delegation of MPs and MLAs of DMK, PMK and MDMK, which presented a memorandum to the Prime Minister, had earlier called on Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, who described the Supreme Court order staying the execution of the arrest warrants against the journalists as "good for democracy".
