Kapurthala, Nov 10: A city court today issued arrest warrant against former president of Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee and sitting Shiromani Akali Dal MLA Bibi Jagir Kaur in a power theft case. The police presented the case before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate S S Dhaliwal, who issued arrest warrant against Bibi. When contacted, R N Dhoke, district police chief said "We have received the arrest warrant and now would raid possible hide-outs of the Bibi, who was missing in view of ensuing SGPC election.” Meanwhile, Director General of Police M S Bhullar had yesterday ruled out the immediate arrest of Bibi.
Police had registered a case under various sections of Indian electricity act and of the IPC against Jagir Kaur on November 8 for allegedly "stealing power" of state electricity board by-passing the electricity metre at her Dera at village Bagowal.

Bibi`s arrest is crucial for Shiromani Akali Dal in view of elections for SGPC office bearers scheduled for November 12.
