Lahore, July 20: As part of its effort to regulate madrassas, Pakistan has decided to send back foreign students who have not registered with the authorities concerned, officials said today. "Once the federal government examined the information and determined a course of action, strict measures are likely to follow against such students," the officials said.

The interior ministry has already asked the Punjab government to furnish the details about all the foreign students in the religious schools and their origin, they said, the news daily quoted ministry officials as saying. According to the official data, 13 districts of the Punjab have foreign students in religious seminaries and madrassas in Lahore house at least 100 foreign students.
