Hyderabad, Oct 08: Telugu film star and former Rajya Sabha member Jayaprada, who had distanced herself from ruling TDP, today called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N
Chandrababu Naidu and enquired about his health.
Emerging from Naidu's jubilee hills residence after a ten-minute meeting with the Chief Minister, Jayaprada ducked questions from waiting reporters about her political future.
Asked about reports that she was contemplating to join Congress, the former president of TDP women's wing said, "It is not the time to talk about politics. As a well-wisher of Naidu, I have come to see him and wish him speedy recovery." As the popular actress chose not to renew her membership in TDP, there is speculation in political circles here that she is gravitating towards Congress.
Her appearances at congress-sponsored gatherings, the recent one being the 60th birthday celebrations of Congress MP T Subbarami Reddy, led credence to the speculations. Meanwhile, Naidu's Jubilee Hills residence was a beehive of activity with a large number of people from across the state continuing to pour in and raising slogans hailing his leadership.
For the third day today, long queues were witnessed near the Chief Minister's residence with people jostling and pushing their way to have a glimpse of Naidu. Bureau Report
