Britain hands over earth quake rescue material to Nepal
Kathmandu, Sept 21: Britain today donated rescue resources worth USD 600,000 to Nepal as precautionary measure to handle any earthquake in Kathmandu Valley.
Kathmandu, Sept 21: Britain today donated rescue resources worth USD 600,000 to Nepal as precautionary measure to handle any earthquake in Kathmandu Valley.
British and Nepali earthquake contingency experts today also completed a joint project to install pre-positioned rescue stores around Kathmandu Valley, a British Embassy
press release said.
The keys to eight ISO containers containing over 3,600 essential first response items were officially handed over to municipality representatives on behalf of the British government by Lt Col Harry walker of the British army's civil affairs group in Kathmandu, the release added. These equipments include shovels, picks, ladders, ropes, lanterns, torches, stretchers, hard hats, masks, fire extinguishers and firs-aid kits.
