Military investigators have recovered two more bodies from the salvaged carcass of the Kursk nuclear submarine, a prosecutor said.
Northern fleet prosecutor Vladimir Mulov said the remains of two sailors were pulled from the submarine's third section, the Interfax news agency reported on Friday. The Kursk sank in August 2000 following an explosion. All 118 men on board were killed.
Divers recovered the remains of 12 sailors last year. Another 68 bodies have been found since the Kursk was lifted from the bottom of the Barents Sea in October. Interfax, citing an unnamed official in the northern fleet prosecutor's office, reported Thursday that the body of Lt. Sergei Kakurin had been identified, bringing the total of identified bodies to 66. Bureau Report
