The Peoples' Party is meeting here on Sunday to decide who will represent the party at the Hurriyat Conference in place of its slain leader Abdul Gani Lone. A meeting of the party's supreme council and executive council will decide on Sunday our party's represenative in the 23-party amalgam, party spokesman Khalid Ahmad told reporters.
on Thursday, Lone's younger son Sajjad Gani was elected party's new chairman and his elder brother Bilal as six-member supreme council's president.
Sajjad was expected to take his father's place on the Hurriyat executive.
Denying rumours that there was a rift between the two brothers on the issue, Ahmad said "it is the handiwork of anti-party and anti-Kashmiri elements." Bureau Report
