New Delhi, May 25: A Delhi Court would pronounce on July 08, its order on a plea by Lok Sabha MP and former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi seeking recalling of the summon issued to him in a case where he is accused of using a forged document of the intelligence bureau. Metropolitan magistrate Shahbuddin reserved his order on the plea after hearing Jogi's counsel and the special public prosecutor for CBI, which is the prosecuting agency.
Jogi's counsel contended that no offence as alleged by CBI was made out against his client.
He claimed that Jogi had written to the then prime minister A B Vajpayee on March 31, 2003 after he came to know about existence of the document. He alleged that it was aimed to target political opponents.
The CBI prosecutor, on the other hand, cited a statement by AICC media-in-charge tom Vadakkan, which said that Jogi had held a press-conference in the party office on March 31, 2003.
The SPP claimed that copies of the document was released to the media at this press conference.
CBI had chargesheeted Jogi accusing him of using the "forged" documents as genuine to tarnish the reputation of the prime minister and IB special director N C Padhi.
Taking cognizance of the chargesheet, the court had summoned him on October 8, 2003.
