Arsikere, Karnataka, Mar 14: Appealing to the rural voters of Karnataka to vote the BJP to power in the state, Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani assured the people that if elected, the NDA government at the Centre would complete the inter-linking of national rivers and wide off water scarcity. Advani, on the second day of the his `Bharat Uday Yatra` in Karnataka, addressed a series of roadside meetings, besides rallies at Nelamangala, Kunigal and here and criticised the Congress for its 47 years of ``misrule`` that denied the country`s emergence as a developed nation.
He said once the inter-linking of rivers was completed, every village would get water.
Highlighting various schemes his government had taken up to improve the lot of the people in rural areas, he mentioned the Kisan card scheme, stating that it would improve the quality of life of the farmers. More than ten million farmers had been given credit cards, he added. He alleged the Congress government in the state was tainted in scams and had allegedly misused foodgrains provided by the Centre for distribution in drought affected areas.
