Tiruchirapalli, July 26: BJP's Tamil Nadu unit today said it was not "coalition dharma" for a party, which was part of NDA at the Centre, to say that it had no relationship with its coalition partner in the state. The party's Tamil Nadu unit president, C P Radhakrishnan, told reporters here today that it was not wisdom on the part of the DMK to claim that it had no relationship with the BJP in Tamil Nadu, while remaining a constituent of the NDA.

He demanded that Tamil Nadu government convene an all-party meeting on the Cauvery issue and a delegation of all party leaders be taken to New Delhi to apprise Prime Minister A B Vajpayee about the situation in the Cauvery delta due to lack of water in the river.

The BJP originally thought of taking a delegation of the party's MPs and MLAs from the state to meet the Prime Minister but later felt that it would a better proposition if an all-party delegation met the Prime Minister, he said.
He said that the Cauvery River Water Authority should evolve a tangible formula for sharing of water during drought and critical periods, he said.

On chief minister Jayalalithaa's opposition to a land bridge to Sri Lanka, he said the proposed bridge would encourage commercial links between the countries.

He said that the performance of the AIADMK government was a mixture of "good and bad."

He wanted a common civil code for the entire country
