New Delhi,Oct 10: Close on the heels of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh attacking the Vajpayee government, Vishwa Hindu Parishad has said it was nearing a breaking point with the Bhartiya Janata Party as it was feeling "very disillusioned, deeply disappointed and deeply hurt" by its policies vis-a-vis Hindus and terrorism. BJP spokesman and MP Sunil Shastri, however, said the BJP was bound by the NDA's Agenda for Governance and differences of opinion were natural in a democracy which can be sorted out.
"These are not only differences of opinion. There is a serious disagreement as we really feel that they have not done anything for the Hindus irrespective of the NDA agenda," VHP president Vishnu Hari Dalmiya said. Stating that the VHP had begun to understand that it should not expect anything "from the BJP", he said "we are very disillusioned, deeply disappointed and deeply hurt" by the party. He said a "major rift" had erupted between VHP and BJP and replied in the affirmative when asked whether the two organisations were "nearing a breaking point". Bureau Report
