ISI funded MULTA activist held along Bangla border
Siliguri, Oct 07: A Muslim United Liberation Tigers of Assam activist, Nasiruddin Haq was arrested at Gitaldah in Coochbehar district of North Bengal, bordering Bangladesh, by BSF in the wee hours today, north Bengal frontier of BSF sources said here.

The additional deputy inspector general of BSF, S S Sandhu said at Kadamtala headquarters here that three more MULTA ultras were subsequently arrested at Barpeta in Assam on the basis of interrogation of Haq today.
He said that Haq was arrested for conspiring against the state and handed over to Coochbehar police while three others in Barpeta were arrested in joint raids by BSF and Assam Police and booked in Arms Act.

During interrogation Haq divulged that he used to carry arms from Lalmonirhat in Bangladesh to Barpeta for MULTA and earn Rs 3,000 per trip. The conductor of a particular Assam bus used to carry the arms to Barpeta against Rs 5,000/ per trip who was now absconding, Sandhu said.
He said that MULTA had already received five trips of fire arms which included AK range of rifles, pistols, improvised devices and bomb making materials.
