Jabalpur, Oct 02: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh today said debacle in Ernakulam and Solapur bypolls would not affect the prospects of Congress Party. "The defeats in the two bye-elections in Maharashtra and Kerala would have no impact on national politics,” he told reporters at Dhumna airport.

Singh urged people "to wait for the Congress manifesto before coming to any conclusion".
"The party's manifesto would highlight the party's priorities in the states,” he said.

To a query, Singh said assembly elections would be held soon after Ramzan and said that the election commission has assured the state government to this effect.
