In a bid to further boost Indo-US military ties, the topmost US Armed Forces officer, Gen Richard Myers, will arrive in New Delhi on a two-day visit next Sunday to hold discussions on various aspects of bilateral security relations.
Gen Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, will be in New Delhi at the invitation of defence minister George Fernandes who visited the United States a month ago.
He will hold discussions with the three service chiefs and top defence officials, besides calling on Fernandes, external affairs minister Jaswant Singh and home minister L K Advani.
This would be for the second time in less than a year that the United States Armed Forces chief would come calling to India. Myers predecessor Gen Henry Shelton was in New Delhi last year. Bureau Report
