Lucknow, Aug 26: Uttar Pradesh Governor Vishnu Kant Shastri has not submitted any report so far to the Centre on political situation in the state following Chief Minister
Mayawati recommending dissolution of the Assembly and BJP withdrawing support to her government.
"No report has been submitted to the Centre yet on
political developments in the state. The Governor is examining
legal and constitutional provisions before submitting the
report," principal secretary to Governor, Shambhu Nath, said
here today.
However, the Governor had been constantly keeping the Centre informed about latest political developments in the state, he said.
Shastri yesterday told reporters that he had received two letters -- one from leader of BJP legislature party Lalji Tandon withdrawing support to the 16-month old Mayawati government and the other from the Chief Minister recommending dissolution of the state Assembly and holding of fresh elections.
"I will examine both the letters and take an appropriate decision in due course of time," the Governor said. Bureau Report
