Kalam, Vajpayee greet their Pak counterports on their I-Day
New Delhi, Aug 14: President A P J Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee have greeted their counterparts in Pakistan on the occasion of its Independence Day today, saying the two countries should put behind the climate of mistrust and move towards peaceful cooperation, rejecting violence and confrontation.

counterparts in Pakistan on the occasion of its Independence
Day today, saying the two countries should put behind the
climate of mistrust and move towards peaceful cooperation,
rejecting violence and confrontation.
In his message to Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf,
Kalam said "India is firmly committed to the improvement of
relations with Pakistan and to establish a relationship of
trust, friendship and cooperation, based on the Simla
agreement and Lahore declaration".
Observing that the "positive momentum" generated in
bilateral relations in recent past should be consolidated and
carried forward, Kalam said "The menace of terrorism poses a
serious threat to our societies. It is incumbent upon us to
unitedly fight the menace for its complete eradication".
