Patna, May 20: With noted neuro-surgeon of Bihar Dr Ramesh Chandra remaining traceless after 48 hours of his abduction despite a massive manhunt launched by police, the Bihar unit of Indian Medical Association has called a meeting of its representatives from across the state to discuss strategy for their proposed indefinte strike from tomorrow. Intense raids were conducted throughout last night in Patna, Nalanda and Jehanabad districts to locate the abducted doctor but there was no trace of him, Director General of Police D P Ojha said here today.
He expressed confidence that something positive would emerge 'very soon'.
The IMA has called a meeting of office-bearers from across the state this evening to discuss future course of action.
IMA general secretary Dr Shahjanand Singh said that the doctors were determined to go on indefinite strike from tomorrow morning if Dr Chandra was not rescued by that time.
"We have given enough time to the government to trace Dr Chandra. The doctors will have no option but to go on indefinite strike from tomorrow morning,” he said.
