Ahmedabad, June 27: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today announced an "independent agency" to evaluate and suggest ways to take management of the state administration to "highest level", official sources said here. "The agency would evaluate the state administration in its entirety and give suitable recommendations to be implemented in two years through training and incentives for increasing efficiency", he said while inaugurating the three-day convention of collectors and district development officers (DDOs) at Kevadia colony in Bharuch district.

Describing the convention being held in the picturesque backdrop of Narmada river, instead of its conventional venue at Gandhinagar secretariat, as a novel attempt for "collective thinking", Modi urged officials to harness the immense strength of vast human resources and facilities.

Stating that he has a vision to make Gujarat a world-class entity, he said the state will have to adapt latest scientific technologies to take a lead in withstanding global competition.

Modi also announced a scheme aimed at involving active participation of over five lakh government employees and inviting suggestions from them directly.

He said programmes to infuse the feeling of "karmayog" right from secretaries to class IV employees will also be arranged.

25 secretaries of various departments, 25 collectors and DDOs and also ministers will undergo "stress relieving excercises" at sessions to be conducted by leading yoga expert from Bangalore Dr H R Nagendra.
