Lucknow, June 21: Congress today demanded resignation of the Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani in view of the former chief minister Kalyan Singh's claim that they were also responsible for conspiracy to demolish Babri Masjid.
UPCC president Jagadambika Pal told reporters that Singh's accusations were significant as he was the chief minister of the state when the Babri Mosque was demolished.
He said after Singh's allegation both Vajpayee and Advani had lost "moral right" to continue occupying their offices.
He criticised the state government for taking action against the CB-CID officials, who were associated with Madhumita Shukla murder probe saying that the action violated the principles of natural justice.
He demanded that the interim report of the CB-CID should be made public.
