Pakistani troops resorted to heavy mortar shelling and intermittent firing along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border in Jammu division since Wednesday, official sources said.
No loss of life or damage to property was reported from the Indian side, they said. Pakistani troops fired several mortar shells from across the LoC in Bhawani sector of Rajouri district from 1230 hours on Wednesday without causing any casualty or damage on Indian side, the sources said.
Indian troops retaliated and the exchange of fire continued for some hours, they said, adding any casualty on Pakistani side could not be ascertained. Intermittent small arms firing between the two sides along the international border was reported at from 35 places in Arnia, RS Pura, Samba, Ramgarh and Hiranagar sectors of Jammu and Kathua districts during last 24 hours, they said.
There was no report of any loss of life or damage to property on the Indian side, the sources added.
