The diocesan team probing the life, virtues and reputation of Mother Teresa's sanctity for the cause of her sainthood, will conclude its inquiry at the St Mary's Church in Kolkata on Wednesday taking her a step closer towards 'beatification' and subsequent 'Canonisation' (sainthood).
At the ceremony, the diocesan inquiry team will hand over its findings as sealed documents, to archbishop of Kolkata Henry D'souza, who supervised the inquiry as the 'local ordinary' representing the Vatican. The team began its enquiry in July, 1999.
The archbishop said that during the proceedings, postulator for the cause Fr Brian Kolodejchuk, a missionaries of charity priest, would formally submit a petition for the cause.

“After endorsement of the petition, I will accept the documents and entrust Fr Brian with the responsibility of sending them to the Vatican for consideration of the Holy See. The entire ceremony will be well organised and last for about half an hour,” he said.
