Chandigarh, May 27: While Haryana government has earmarked Rs 400 crore for promotion of health services during the current fiscal, the Centre has allotted Rs 15 crore upto September 2004 to bring about health sector reforms at the state headquarter and the three districts of Ambala, Yamunanagar and Kamal. A spokesman of the Haryana health department said here today the sectoral investment programme was being financed by the European commission.
He said an oncology wing would be set up at General Hospital, Panchkula, at a cost of Rs one crore so as to provide better services to the patients suffering from cancer.
A cobal therapy unit was being set up at General Hospital, Bhiwani, at cost of Rs 1.5 crore while CT scan services had been provided a general hospitals in Panchkula and Sirsa, he said.
He said that regional diagnostic centres were set up at Bhiwani, Narnaul, Sirsa, Gurgaon and Panchkula.
These centres were aimed at upgradation of the already existing diagnostic services in these districts. Bureau Report
