We have a list of 32 wanted men from India: Pak
Pakistan has prepared a list of 32 `wanted elements` from India which would be handed over to New Delhi when the two countries resume dialogue, Interior Minister Moinuddin Haider said.
"Pakistan has prepared the list of 32 wanted elements from India but it will not be handed over to it," Haider was quoted as saying by the official APP news agency on Wednesday night. On the Indian demand to hand over 20 wanted terrorists and criminals by Pakistan, he said matters such as these were of minor nature and could be resolved once process of dialogue was initiated between the two countries.
Asked to respond to the comments made Indian External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh two days ago about the existence training camps of militants along the LoC, Haider said there were no terrorist training camps in Pakistan and wanted India to tell as to what was the extent of the infiltration on the same day during 2001.
India should also by comparison should reveal whether the infiltration was reduced or not, he said and asked New Delhi to review the the level of infiltration across the LoC with that of previous year.
"The state policy is being strictly adhered not to back the infiltrators," Haider said.
Referring to the recent address to the nation by President Pervez Musharraf, he said all the concerned quarters have been issued clear cut instructions to keep strict vigil on this sector.
The matter cannot be solved through largesize deployment of troops at the borders, he said, adding that "the solution of the matter could be sought through negotiations."
He said if India considers to opt for any other alternative such as war, Pakistan was fully ready to face it.
Later addressing an interfaith meeting, Haider asked to concentrate to alleviate the internal problems confronted by the minorities.
"India should take care of the aspect of internal terrorism being committed by Hindu extremists on the minorities living there," he said.
Referring to the stand-off between India and Pakistan he expressed the hope that the neighbour will understand the message of peace prior to opting for any extreme step.
He said in view of the war threats, to the civil defence department has been reactivated and they are carrying out all the necessary drills to prepare themselves for any eventuality.
"The civil defence department will play its role along side with the defence forces of the country in any hour of trial," Haider said. Bureau Report
