Mumbai, Oct 25: Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde condoled the death of spiritual leader and founder of the 'Swadhyaya Parivar' movement Pandurang Shastri Athawale, who passed away here today. In his message, the Chief Minister said the society has lost a great spiritual leader who transformed the society and took it to a higher level, through his spiritual thinking.
His greatest contribution is that he reposed self-confidence in the minds of those neglected by the society who later became his Swadhyayis, Shinde said.
South Mumbai MP Jaywantiben Mehta was among those who called on the bereaved family at their residence.
