BSP, RJD, BPP leaders join Cong in Bihar
Patna, Aug 25: Congress in Bihar today got a shot in the arm with Bahujan Samaj Party state general secretary, Bindeshwar Ram and leaders from ruling RJD and Bihar Peoples Party joining the party with 500 supporters.

Besides Ram, others who joined the Congress included Akhilesh Singh, general secretary of former MLA Anand Mohan Singh-led BPP, RJD intellectual cell president Shambhu Sharma and a noted doctor R P Sinha.
State Congress president Ram Jatan Sinha welcomed them into the party at a function at Sadaquat Ashram, the party headquarters here.
Sinha later told reporters that congress was gaining strength in the state as indicated by the joining of a large number of leaders and workers of different parties.
Earlier, former Bihar minister and Samata Party leader Deonath Prasad, Samajwadi Janata Party leader and twice MP from Siwan Krishna Pratap Singh, LJP student wing chief Pankaj Kumar a few NCP and the entire Patna district unit of Samajwadi Party (SP) had joined Congress in the presence of Ram Jatan Sinha.
The Congress chief announced that in the third phase of its 'chaloa goan ki or' (march towards village) programme, the party would organise a padyatra from Hajipur to Muzaffarpur.
