New Delhi, Feb 22: A Delhi court today remanded in judicial custody, for a day, suspended Delhi Police Inspector Puran Singh and sub inspector Gaurav Aggarwal arrested yesterday in the Telgi fake stamp paper scam case. Duty Magistrate Ila Rawat remanded the accused in judicial custody despite the CBI asking for ten days police custody for interrogation and further investigation.

Counsel appearing for Puran Singh opposed the CBI remand of the accused.

Both the accused will be produced before the CBI special judge tomorrow.
Puran Singh was released on bail in another fake stamp paper scam-related case on Feb 19, 2004, when the CBI failed to file a chargesheet within the mandatory 60 days.
Accused Aggarwal was earlier dismissed by the Delhi Police for misconduct and corrupt practices on Feb 11, 2000.
He was, however, reinstated on Feb 11, 2001 by influencing the authorities alleged the CBI.
A diary containing the phone numbers of the prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi and accomplices was recovered from Gaurav during the raid yesterday.
