Berlin, Oct 07: Michael Schumacher will not believe he has won a record sixth World title until Sunday's Japan Grand Prix is over.
"In sport, you can never be sure of anything," said the Ferrari ace who is just a single point from a fourth consecutive title. "That would be the worst thing I could do and we at Ferrari won't be making that mistake."
But the 34-year-old, who also won world titles with Benetton in 1994 and 1995, was quietly confident after a week of tests at Mugello.
"It's too early to talk about it but, of course, I'd be very proud of a sixth title."
Schumacher's 70th career victory in the United States Grand Prix a week ago left Finnish rival Kimi Raikkonen a mountain to climb at Suzuka. The 23-year old Mclaren driver needs to win and hope Schumacher does not score in the final race of the season to prevent the Ferarri ace from overtaking Juan Manuel Fangio's record.

And the fact that Ferrari is chasing a fifth consecutive constructors' title was added motivation.

"We've prepared as well as we could," Schumacher said. "It would be brilliant. The team deserves it."

Ferrari are three points ahead of Williams-BMW.
