New Delhi, Aug 11: After mesmerising the lawmakers with his "Ras Barse', Shehnai wizard Ustad Bismillah Khan teams up with legendary Sarod meastro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan for a first-ever Jugalbandi, in honour of the unknown soldiers who laid their lives for the country, in the national capital.
The unique event titled "Amar Jyoti Concert", organised by Pandit Chaturlal Memorial Society, as a tribute to the Kargil martyrs and to rekindle the spirit of India's freedom movement, would offer a rare Sarod-Shehnai unison for the Delhiites.
The event assumes importance as this concert would offer music afficianadoes a rare chance to witness the 87-year-old Ustad Bismillah Khan and Ustad Amjad Ali Khan performing together.

"This would be a rare treat for the music lovers because of a simple reason that it had never happened before. This would be the first time Bismillah Khan shares a stage with Amjad Ali Khan," society spokesperson and son of the great tabla master Pandit Chauturlal, Chiranjeet says.
"Both the legendary musicians have agreed to come together and would perform a Jugalbandi, a unique combination of wind and string instruments, on 18th August at the Talkatora stadium here," he says.

Another highlight of the event would be the unison of sitar and Shehnai. "Playing Sitar and Shehnai together would be an extremely difficult and exciting and to my knowledge no one has ever tried this before," he says.
