New Delhi, Jan 09: Noted farm scientist Mangla Rai today took over as the new Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
Rai, who was deputy director general (crop sciences) in ICAR, succeeds Panjab Singh, a spokesman of ICAR said.
He assumed office in the presence of senior officials and scientists of the ICAR here.
Rai's appointment came after his name was recommended by a search committee headed by noted economist and former union minister Y K Alagh
