Vaiko, others observe fast protesting TN Assembly decision
Vellore (TN), Nov 09: MDMK general secretary Vaiko and eight members of his party, currently in central jail here under Pota, began a hunger strike this morning to protest the Tamil Nadu Assembly`s decision ordering the arrest of senior journalists of two dailies.

Vaiko, M P, and his party colleagues began the ten-hour
fast at eight am today, jail sources said.
The Tamil Nadu Assembly had on Friday ordered the arrests of six senior journalists, including two top editors of the daily 'The Hindu' and the editor of the DMK mouthpiece `Murasoli' on charges of breach of privilege and "gross contempt" of the House. Bureau Report
