What are the prospects for spinners in Indian cricket?

Indian spinners have always been good. We have upcoming spinners like Amit Mishra and Aparajit Khurana, who are of international quality. What is your opinion of Indian Cricket Players' Association?
I myself am a member of the body. It will help overcome the communication gap between the players and the board and help solve matters amicably. It should have come into existence 15-20 years back.
Do you think the international schedule is too hectic?
Yes, definitely.
What is your view on sledging?
If it is done in a controlled manner, it is ok. Some amount of sledging should be there to add spice to the game. But again, 'control' is the magic word. Unlike in the recent showdown between McGrath and Sarwan, some amount of restraint should be practiced.
What about chucking?
I doubt whether the panel that looks into it consists of any reputed international umpires. A panel of about five experienced and reputed international umpires should be allowed to decide such issues. They know the game and its rules better.
Has it become a trend to have different captains for the two versions of the game?
It should not be forced the way the Sri Lankan team has done. Do you think Atapattu is as good a captain for one-day cricket? Can't Tilakaratne lead the team in the one-dayers too?
Your life after retirement from international cricket?
I am still associated with the game. Besides commenting, I am involved with its other aspects.
What type of food do you like?
I eat everything. I like vegetarian food. But my favourites are pizzas and Mexican food.
Could some players have taken performance-enhancing drugs in your playing days?
I never felt anything of that sort.
Your favourite book?
Mohammed Ali's I Am The Greatest.
Your highest achievement?
Playing for my country.
