Over 160 tribal children of an ‘ashramshala’ in Surat, who were on a tour of religious places in Saurashtra and central Gujarat, had a providential escape when a mob attacked their bus on the outskirts of Bhuma village in Kheda district. The students of the tribal-dominated taluka of Nizar-Kikurmunda were on way back to Nizar on March 1 even as the spate of post-Godhra violence continued in the district and other areas of the state, their teacher accompanied them on the tour. The children took shelter in another ashram in Bhuma, Arvindbhai said on Sunday and added that they would return only if total police protection was provided by the government. Meanwhile, MLA from Nizar Nagar Vasva has taken the initiative to bring back safely the children in a day or two, Arvindbhai added.
