New Delhi, May 18: Second seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi of Belarus advanced to the final in the $2.4 million ATP Masters tennis tournament in Hamburg, Germany beating the third seed duo of Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan of United States in the semifinal yesterday.

The Indo-Belarussian pair, who had reached the semifinals in the Masters in Rome last week, won in the last warmup event for the French Open after a tough battle 7-6 (7/2) 3-6 6-4, according to information received here.
But there was disappointment for fifth seeds Leander Paes and Czezh David Rikl as the duo lost to top ranked Mark Knowles of Bahamas and Daniel Nestor of Canada 3-6 4-6 in the other semifinal.
Playing together, Bhupathi and Paes won the doubles crown at Roland Garros in 1999 and in 2001.
