Jaipur, June 08: Information and Broadcasting Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has said the signals of Doordarshan kendras in border areas of Rajasthan would be strengthened to "paralyse" the "propaganda" of Pakistan TV. Inaugurating a DD-metro relay centre at Alwar last night, Prasad said the low power transmitter would be converted into a high-power one to paralyse Pakistan TV's signals.

"It is necessary to provide better signal to viewers in Barmer, Jaisalmer, Bikaner so that they can stop viewing Pakistan TV programmes," an official release quoted Prasad as saying.

He said a high-power transmission centre would also come up at Bundi in Rajasthan.

Prasad warned cable operators in border towns against flouting DD norms.

A grant of Rs 500 crores would be provided under the tenth five year plan for Doordarshan, he said.
