Jodhpur, June 16: Rajasthan high court today extended the stay on arrest of VHP leader Acharya Dharmendra and postponed the hearing on his petition against rejection of his anticipatory bail plea by a court in Bhilwara. Allowing the state government's plea that the date of hearing be extended as the special public prosecutor could not attend court today, vacation judge Om Prakash Bishnoi directed that the case be taken up after summer recess.

Granting the plea by the VHP leader's counsel Hastimal Saraswat, Justice Bishnoi also extended the stay on the Acharya's arrest till the next date of hearing, to be fixed after opening of the courts after summer vacation next month.

The high court has stayed the arrest of Acharya on 16th April.
Police had registered a case against the VHP leader for delivering inflammable speech at a 'trishul deeksha' ceremony in Badnor town in Bhilwara district in March this year.

His anticipatory bail plea was rejected by a local court in Bhilwara against whose judgement the VHP leader has approached the high court now.
