Court`s deadline for CISF jawan to surrender expires tomorrow
Mumbai, Jan 18: The deadline fixed by a sessions court for absconding CISF jawan R Namdeo to surrender in a murder case expires tomorrow even as the police is all set to submit its report on efforts made to trace the accused.

The CISF jawan is facing the charge of killing deputy commandant a Karanjikar at the international airport here on May 24 last year for refusing to grant him leave.
The Supreme Court on January 12 granted Namdeo two weeks time to surrender. Namdeo had moved the apex court to challenge the Mumbai High Court order cancelling his bail granted by the trial court. The trial court had issued non-bailable warrant against Namdeo but it was returned unexecuted. The judge then issued proclamation order asking him to come before the court on November 19 or else he will be declared a proclaimed offender.
It is not clear whether Namdeo would appear before the court tomorrow as his parents are not aware about his hideout, but the court may issue a 30-day notice to him to appear or else the process of proclamation may begin forthwith. His lawyer Majeed Memon is likely to seek adjournment till January 26 when Namdeo's matter would be heard. Memon, however, has advised Namdeo's family to trace him and ask him to surrender forthwith.
Namdeo's parents have informed police that he has been missing since last month and had not contacted his family.
The trial court had granted bail to Namdeo on certain conditions. The state challenged the order in high court which cancelled his bail observing that he was prima facie involved in the crime. Being aggrieved, Namdeo filed an SLP in Supreme Court.
