Chandigarh, Aug 03: Motorsports One, Chandigarh will organise the Motorsports Association of India (MAI) approved Indian National Rally championship for three days here from September 19, an organisers release said today.
The rally would be open to Mai homologated cars, including Maruti 800, Baleno, Esteem, Gypsy, Zen, Honda City, and Mitsubishi lancer conforming to Federation International D'automobile (FIA) group N (unmodified) upto 1600cc specifications, organisers Motorsport One secretary Navaz Sandhu said.
She said that the rally will be flagged-off from Chandigarh and will run in the lower hills of Himachal Pradesh.
A world rally championship style "spectator super special" will also be held here in which two cars will race together on a specially designed dirt track where the spectators can witness all the action and thrill of high speed racing.
The rally will have the best rally drivers of the country taking part including three times national champion Naren Kumar, seven time national champion N Leelakrishnan and local hero and National Champion 2000 Karandip Singh, she added.
