Jaipur, Nov 03: The BJP has finalised the names of about 110 candidates for the December one assembly polls in Rajasthan, its state unit president, Vasundhara Raje said today. Names of the remaining 90 candidates would be short-listed in a day or so, Raje told a press conference here.
However the BJP central election committee meeting in Delhi tomorrow would declare all names latest by November seven or eight, she said.
By and large there would be no change in candidates including sitting MLAs for 110 seats, she said adding there was no "unrest or protest" while finalising these names.
The party had considered the votes margin of those who had lost the last two assembly polls by over 10,000 votes, but now the winnability was the main criterion for selection, she said.
Making a balance in ticket distribution, the party would give 20-22 tickets to women, and some to youngsters, she said.
Asked if she had finalised her seat, Raje said, the CEC would decide but "I can contest from anywhere in my Jhalawar constituency from where I am a Lok Sabha member."
On BSP's threat to the BJP in the wake of invisible support to congress candidates, Raje replied the poll race would be between the BJP and the Congress and newer parties were welcome in the democratic set up specially in polls.
On BJP's own pre-poll surveys, she said: " look at me. Do I appear to be unhappy? I am not sad. At least the party is united. We will take over the government in Rajasthan by defeating the Congress."
