Agra, May 27: Rashtriya Kranti Dal president Kalyan Singh today said the country should be saved from a "fascist" party like the BJP adding he would never join the party again. The country had to be saved from the BJP and the BSP which was engaged in a casteist struggle, he said.
It was the need of the hour that the regional parties withdrew support to the NDA government so that the people were provided with an alternative, he added.
Singh said his party had agreed to fight the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha polls together with the Samajwadi Party.
The former firebrand UP chief minister said he hoped that the Mayawati government would fall because of its internal conflicts.
Attacking the style of functioning of the UP government, he said Mayawati had no plan for dalit upliftment except indulging in gimmicks like Ambedkar Park and putting up statues of Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram.
"There was goonda raj in the state. Kisans were being exploited. Youth were unemployed. There was no drinking water, no roads, no electricity and the administration was being politicised," he said.
Criticising Mayawati's foreign visit, he said she would fail to get NRI investment because of poor infrastructure in the state.
Calling for an alliance between the non-BJP parties, he said these parties including the Congress should come together and work out a common minimum programme before the elections.
The future of BJP was doomed and it would face defeat in the forthcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Chhattisgarh. Bureau Report
