Central Bank of India H1 net up 107%
Mumbai, Nov 02: Central Bank of India on Saturday reported a 107 per cent jump in its net profit for the six months ended September 30, 2003 at Rs 273.33 crore as against Rs 131.87 crore posted in the same period of the previous fisal.

Total income for the first half 2003-04 stood at Rs 3027.85 crore over Rs 2746.83 for the corresponding period of the earlier fiscal, the company said in a release.
The interest earned declined to Rs 2,493.33 crore (Rs 2,523.98 crore) while the net non-performing assets were reduced to 6.72 per cent (7.89 per cent).
The capital adequacy ratio improved to 11.49 during the April-September period as against 10.52 in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal while retun on assets (annualised) rose to 0.95 per cent (0.49 per cent)
