New Delhi, Dec 02: India has failed to name a provisional World Cup squad even two days after the expiry of the deadline set for the purpose by the International Cricket Council. The ICC had fixed November 30 as the deadline for all the participating countries to name a provisional 30-member squad for next year's World Cup but the Indian Cricket Board had not yet announced the list of probables.
"We will be announcing the list of probables in a few days. The shortlisting will be done by the selectors," the BCCI's media manager Amrit Mathur said, though he could not give a specific date nor the reasons for not meeting the deadline.
"I can't say the exact date when it will be announced, but it will be done shortly," Mathur said.

With India's one-day series against New Zealand ending on January 14, there was speculation that the selectors may also not name the final 15-member squad for the World Cup by the December 31 deadline set by the ICC.
Australia, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka were among the top teams who have already announced their provisional squads before the deadline though they are engaged in international matches till January.
