Rome, Aug 24: Brazilian World Cup star Ronaldo has repeated his intention to quit inter Milan and says he is prepared to sit it out and wait for his chance to join Real Madrid.

Ronaldo returned to Italy from Brazil yesterday, insisting he still wanted to join the Spanish giants despite the breakdown of transfer talks this week. "For me, nothing has changed," said Ronaldo, as he left the plane. "I want to leave inter. I`m in no hurry. I will wait until this situation resolves itself."

A car was waiting on the runway to whisk him away and spare him the wrath of fans waiting for him in the arrivals` hall at Malpensa Airport.
Ronaldo has gone from hero to villain at the club whose supporters and president Massimo Moratti can scarcely believe the Brazilian is turning his back after they stuck with him through two years of serious injuries. "Now say sorry!" said one banner in Milan after the talks foundered.

Moratti meanwhile has not given up hope that he can change the World Cup`s leading goalscorer`s mind.

"Ronaldo has agreed to train, even if not with the team, because he wants to play in the champions league," said the president. "Then, day by day, we will try to build links and build bridges in our relations and work out what Ronaldo will do at inter."
