Delhi goes to Congress, MP to BJP
New Delhi, Nov 28: According to the latest Zee News-Cvoter opinion poll, Congress seems to be heading for a comfortable majority in Delhi while BJP has an upper hand in Madhya Pradesh. It would be tough battle for the two parties in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
However, BJP is making substantial inroads in Madhya Pradesh and is likely to win 133-141 seats in the 230 member assembly. Diggy Raja’s influence is clearly waning and the Congress is likely to capture between 62 to 70 seats, nearly half of its score in 1998. Obviously then, the negative swing against Congress is 4%.
It’s horns locked in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. Congress is in slight lead with its projected win in 41-49 seats of the total 90 in Chhattisgarh. BJP is close behind with 30-38 seats but is facing a 4% swing against it.
In Rajasthan, BJP seems to be gaining ground with it bagging 80-96 seats. But Congress is still ahead with 96-112 seats of the total 200. It may be noted that recently, the Jat Mahasabha and the Rajputs had thrown their weight with the BJP. Congress vote shares comes down to 44% with a 1% negative vote swing.
The survey was conducted by interviewing 4000 plus people from 80 seats across the four states over a period of last seven days. The method used for arriving at the results was Stratified Random Sampling.
