Chaigaon Makhan (MP), Aug 30: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today expressed confidence that those opposing the Women's Reservation Bill would ultimately have to bow to people's wish for such quota. "Government is committed to provide reservation for women but some people (without naming them) do not want it," Vajpayee said while addressing a ‘Kisan Rally’ organised in this village near Khandwa by BJP. "When elected women members can perform exceptionally well in Panchayats and Nagar Palikas, then why not in Parliament," he wondered. The Prime Minister said he is confident that one day those opposing reservation for women in Lok Sabha and state assemblies would have to accept the public opinion in this regard. "Jan mat ke samne unhe jhukna padega. Aisa mujhe vishwas hai," he said.
