Gorakhpur (UP), Mar 22: The district administration today banned the entry of VHP international general secretary Pravinbhai Togadia into Gorakhpur on March 24 to attend a 'trishul diksha' programme, official sources said. The decision was taken in view of the prevailing tension in the city where curfew was clamped on Wednesday following communal clashes that left two persons dead, they said.
The district authorities have warned that any violation of the ban order would be sternly dealt with, the sources said. Togadia is scheduled to visit Gorkhpur on Monday to attend VHP's 'trishul dikhsa'.
Meanwhile, curfew in the three police station areas of the city continued for the fourth consecutive day even as no untoward incident was reported from any part of the city, the sources said. Board examination for classes 10 and 12 were conducted peacefully in the curfew bound areas with the authorities allowing unhindered movement of examinees and their escorts, they said.
