New Delhi, Oct 07: Seven Uttar Pradesh leaders, including Rajender Tripathi, who was home minister in the state during the tenure of V P Singh, today rejoined the Congress in what was described by them as "home coming". They had had left the Congress some 15 years ago following formation of Jan Morcha by the Former Prime Minister.
Tripathi, Dal Singar Yadav, Vishram Das, Yogesh Chander Mishra, Pramod Kumar Singh, Jai Prakash Singh and Ramender Kumar Singh were welcomed to the partyfold by AICC general secretary Nawal Kishore Sharma.
Sharma told reporters that their joining would help strengthen the Congress in UP, whose development has "suffered" due to non-Congress rule in the last 14 years.
