Pakistan-based militant outfit, Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM), which has been charged by Indian police of being involved in the terrorist attack on Parliament, has denied that its ultras took part in the suicide attack.
Reacting for the first time after the attack, the outfit's founder leader Maulana Masood Azhar said the suicide attack was not carried out by Islamic militants as they have nothing to gain by attacking Indian Parliament.

Quoting reports that mounds of explosives were brought to be used in the attack, he said it was impossible for the militants to transport such a huge quantity of explosives.
Azhar, a Pakistani national, who was released from an Indian prison after the 1999 hijacking of the Indian Airlines flight from Kathmandu to Kandahar has accused India of levelling false allegations.

On India's demand to ban JeM and LeT, Azhar said, “We are not promoting terrorism against any country. Pakistan arrested those who took part in the peaceful religious demonstrations in support of Taliban. When such was the case, how can the Pakistan government allow attacks against another country.”
