Srinagar, June 01: Hours before the scheduled visit of Congress President Sonia Gandhi to Baramulla in North Kashmir, security forces detected a landmine on the Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway this morning, official sources said.
The mine was detected near Flood Complex at Khawajabagh on the highway around 0800 hrs, the sources said.

Flood Complex is 500 metres from the venue of the public meeting to be addressed by Gandhi and several Chief Ministers of Congress-ruled states who were here for the two-day conclave, which ended yesterday.

The security forces and police were engaged in defusing the landmine, the sources said. Bureau Report
