Uttar Pradesh minister of state for energy Satish Sharma resigned from the Rajnath Singh government after being denied a ticket by the BJP for the next month`s Assembly Elections.
Uttar Pradesh minister of state for energy Satish Sharma resigned from the Rajnath Singh government after being denied a ticket by the BJP for the next month's Assembly Elections.
Talking to newspersons, Sharma, a Loktantrik Congress Party (LCP) MLA from Anupshahar in Bulandsahar district, said he had sent his resignation letters to the state governor and the chief minister.
He criticised the BJP leadership for ''betraying'' him at the ''last moment'' by giving his seat to the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) even though he had a ''good image'' in the area and there was not a single corruption charge against him.
He said he would support the candidates of the Samajwadi Party and Congress, who can defeat the RLD candidate in Anupshahar. Sharma is the sixth minister in the state government to resign after been refused a ticket by the ruling coalition.
